Pōmaika‘i was born and raised on the picturesque Windward side of O‘ahu, where she spent her formative years in the communities of Kailua and Kāne‘ohe, enjoying summers in Waimānalo. She eventually relocated to Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai‘i, and later pursued her education as a boarding student at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama campus. After completing her studies and graduating in the year 2000, Pōmaika‘i continued her academic journey at the University of Hawai‘i in Mānoa. Currently, she resides in Parkland, Florida, and has been an integral member of our hālau for the last 13 years.
