Aloha! We are Hālau Hula O Nā Liko A'o Puna — South Florida’s only traditional school for hula and Hawaiian culture, based both in Fort Lauderdale and Tampa, Florida.

Under the direction of Kumu Kona Garcia, Hālau Hula O Nā Liko A'o Puna has been bringing the spirit of Hawai’i to Florida for over ten years. Our ambition is to perpetuate and preserve the Hawaiian Culture through Hula, both traditional (Kahiko) and modern ('Auana) forms, enrichment workshops,and 'ōlelo Hawai'i (lessons in the Hawaiian language). Whether you are Hawaiian or Hawaiian-at-heart, All are welcome to join..

Our Hālau has two locations - one in Fort Lauderdale, FL and one in Tampa FL, both taught by Kumu Kona Garcia. Some of our students travel hours each way to reach us, however there is also an option to join over Zoom if students aren’t able to attend in person.

  • Hālau Hula O Nā Liko A'o Puna began over ten years ago. What began as a small group looking for a reminder of home has grown into a community of individuals from all over the country who are dedicated to perpetuating the Hawaiian culture.

  • Our Hālau offers open enrollment once per year in the summer months. To get updates on performances, enrollment periods, and other fun announcements, follow us on Instagram!

  • Yes! We love our keiki and highly encourage families to enroll together and make Hālau a family experience. We recommend waiting until children are 4+ years old.

  • Our Fort Lauderdale Hālau hosts classes once a week. Depending on your level, our classes are either on Mondays or Tuesdays.

    Our Tampa Hālau hosts classes twice per month on Sundays.
